Where did the Chinese people come from? Are they part of the lost ten tribes?

Dear Gramps,
I am curious about the origin of the Chinese people. Do you know what, if any, tribe they belong to? Are they part of the lost tribes? I have seen parts of their culture that have truth in their teachings, such as the harmony of spirit and body. I’ve always been interested in their history and culture.
Candice, from Salt Lake City, Utah

Dear Candice,
The Chinese or Mongolians were differentiated as a race, as were all other races except the biblical family of Noah, at the time of the Tower of Babel, that was built shortly after the universal flood. Tradition has it that Noah was the founder of the Chinese empire in 2240 BC. The first emperor of China was Fohi, or Yao, who is supposed to be Noah. Chinese historians state that Fohi was a divine personage, that he invented the symbolic method of writing; and also invented music, dress making, and the custom of sacrificing at the solstices. There are Chinese records of an eclipse of the sun in the year 2155 BC. Fohi was succeeded by Shin Nong in 1998 BC. There are 50 Chinese emperors recorded before the time of Christ.
The Chinese people pre-dated the House of Israel, but there is no doubt that the lost tribes or their descendants intermingled with the Chinese, as well as with many other nations, after they were lost to the world. In fact, in patriarchal blessings given in Mongolia since missionary work was opened up there, every one of the twelve tribes of Israel has been has been numbered in their ancestry.
