What would happen if all of the flies in the world died?

Gramps,
What would happen if all of the flies in the world died, and what is a good website that tells you things like that?
Celeste, from Farmington, Utah

Dear Celeste,
In the first place, if all the flies died there wouldn’t be much for the frogs to eat, so they would probably all die. Then all the people who inhabit all the fancy restaurants in the world wouldn’t have any frog legs to eat, so they would eventually starve to death. So we can see that if all the flies died it would end up in a catastrophe of world-wide proportions. There was a time when it would have been extremely easy to have eliminated all the flies on the earth, but that didn’t happen, so the Lord must have a purpose for them. The circumstance that I refer to has been expressed in poetic form, as follows—

NOAH

Noah was as prophet Iʼd
like to have
met face-to-face.

A man instrumental
in saving
the human race

And all living creatures
from the largest
elephants to the tiniest little ants,

But Iʼll never understand
why he didnʼt kill
those two flies when he had the chance!
