What do you think about the concept of stigmata?

Gramps,
As an ex-Catholic turned Mormon, I know what my take is on what I want to ask you, but I’d still appreciate your thoughts. What do you think of the so-called “phenomenon” of the stigmata happening to people?

Dear Susan,
Any bodily marks, sores, or sensations of pain in locations corresponding to the crucifixion wounds of the Savior are purely coincidental, and have no relationship to the Savior or to any spiritual manifestation whatsoever. And those who promote such concepts, feeding on the gullibility of the credulous, will be accountable before God for their nefarious actions.
