Wait or not?
I have a girlfriend last year, she went on a mission… she just told me months before she left that she wants us to break up when she leaves… I was shocked!… the day comes for her departure, a day before that I asked her what would happen to our relationship… and she simply said “we have already talked about that.” but the truth is we never really talked about it all!! It is only her who made the decision without asking my side…and she wants me to date other girls! What does that mean? I think she is trying to give me away in a subtle way… right now I met alot of other girls, and they are better…. this day I received a text message from a girl telling me that we should stop texting each other, its so crazy!…. I really dont know…. I want to write the girl in the mission and asked her, if she wants me to wait for her or not, if Im waiting for something or not?… pls help me

Dear Jarrel,
I only have your email to go on, but from that it seems that your Girlfriend has clearly expressed herself to you. While it is heartbreaking the simple truth is while it takes two people to make a relationship work it really one take one person to bring it to an end. Which she has.
While it would have been nice and even respectful to you for your Girlfriend to explain the whys and whatfores of her reasoning and give you a chance to respond to them. Nothing requires her to. As painful as it is to hear, you have been dumped. She is no longer your girlfriend. Move on.
As to why she did this I can only speculate. I would guess that she is taking her mission call seriously, and in order to dedicate herself more fully to the Lord she is removing things (and people) she feels might distract her from the work. Worrying about a boyfriend and trying to maintain a long distance relationship can clearly qualify as a distraction.
So my advice to you would be to date other girls, live your life, do the things the Lord would have you do. Let her be, so she can do the things the Lord has called her to do.
