If the teachings of the current prophets contradict the teachings of former prophets, which would take precedence?

Dear Gramps,
If current teachings of Prophets contradict those taught in the past, do the words of living authorities take precedence over what was taught previously (e.g. reasoning and prediction concerning the priesthood ban, and the 1978 revelation)?

Dear Chris,
I know of no contradictions between current and former prophets on any subject, let alone the priesthood ban to which you refer. If you perceive an apparent contradiction between the prophets of different times or dispensations, please know that your reasoning is faulty, and prayerfully search for the truth. With respect to the priesthood ban to which you refer, the 1978 revelation was a fulfillment of the prophecies of every prophet in the restoration, beginning with Joseph Smith.
