If the Church of Jesus Christ is indeed the only true church on earth, why is it that the State of Utah is one of the worst States to live in?
Dear Gramps,
My name is Carlo. I do not want to argue about the Mormon Church of its doctrines. Â I believe, everybody is entitled to believe according totheir own conscience. Â I have two questions for you, which I hope you will answer at your own time and kindness. Â 1) If the Church of Jesus Christ is indeed the only true church on earth, why is it that the State of Utah is one of the worst States to live in? Â Don’t you think that if the first settlers were truly inspired by God, Utah would have been by now the most wonderful place to live in in America? Â And yet, it is a right to work state, meaning no good laborlaws to protect workers from greedy employers, no health care for the real poor and uninsured, and much more. Â 2) Can you please, explain to me why a church that boasts itself to be the true church, continues, although, unofficially, to support the Republican Party, one of the most backwards, anti labor and anti poor, warmonger and all for the rich, political party in theFree world? Jesus said many times that by their fruits, you shall know the true followers. Â I myself, was born a Catholic, but do not go to any church since I find them to be like clubs and all concerned about politics and never made any efforts to band together, and demand better labor laws and universal healthcare for the poor, instead of just preaching the gospel like empty cymbals.
Carlo, from Kirksville, Missouri
Dear Carlo,
About some things you seem to be grossly misinformed. About others you seem to be highly opinionated. And you live in Missouri!! Have you ever been to Utah?? I have lived for some period of time in seven different states and three foreign countries, and I have visited every one of the 50 US States. I have visited 10 different countries in Latin America and six different European countries, and I now live in the State of Utah. My ancestors on my mother’s side of the family arrived in Utah with the Willey Handcart Company in 1856. Of course the State has its imperfections, but so does every other State. Frankly, I love this beautiful State, and at this time of my live I wouldn’t live anywhere else.
