How can I help those in my study class to get over the notion that Christ fulfilled the Ten Commandments, and therefore they are no longer binding on us?
Dear Gramps,
I am in a Bible study with non-Mormon ladies. We are studying Galatians at the moment. They are very set on the fact that when Jesus Christ died he not only fulfilled the Law of Moses, but the Ten Commandments as well. They believe we are no longer beholden unto ANY law of God and to quote a book one lent me “if we should pledge lifelong service to God whom he has offended, the Father will not allow such a pledge to be a part of His gracious acceptance of the offender!”
They see having a “commitment to obedience” as a “part of true spiritual conversion” as a lie and that it takes away their freedom. I have tried to ask them what it means then when Christ says “If ye love me keep my commandments” but they have no answer for me. How do I lovingly approach this topic or do I leave it?

Dear Palaytia,
You have already said your piece, and these “students” continue in their position that they are saved regardless of their behavior. It would be useless to try to convince them otherwise. Having been brought to a belief in this diabolical doctrine they have been lulled away into carnal security. To be brought back to reality would be a much harder path for them to follow then their present approach which absolves them of all responsibility or accountability for righteous action. You can only allow them to continue in their irresponsible beliefs and hope and pray that something will bring them to their senses before it becomes eternally too late.
