Although my ideal weight is 154 lbs (106 lbs for the first 5 feet of height and 6 pounds for each inch above 5 feet), the original plan was to get down below 150. However, when I mowed the lawn this morning, for the first time in history I had to stop and rest about half way through the job–evidence that the ketone delivery from the lipid tissue was waning and the mussel tissue (proteins) were being called into service. Hence the beginning of the stabilization phase.
The purpose of the stabilization phase is to teach the body that the current weight is the normal weight that the body will return to after any excesses or deprivations. In this phase of the diet we add to the three Cambridge drinks totaling 330 calories/day one nutritionally balanced 400 calorie meal/day for a week. My principal choices for such a meal are half a cantaloupe stuffed with cottage cheese, or a simple hamburger–perhaps a little lettuce salad with oil and vinegar dressing thrown in.
We will plan to add an additional 400 cal/day meal each week until we are getting all the nutrition we need to maintain a healthy life style and not gain weight.
Personal note–On Friday, Aug. 17, my wife and I are making a trip to southern Idaho to attend the 66th annual reunion of my high school graduating class. The reunion will consist of an evening meal and program on Friday, and on Saturday morning a group breakfast is to be held at a local restaurant.
The Plan– Attend the Friday banquet with my great, tasty, nutritional glass of Cambridge on the table. When the function is over, I slip out to a local hamburger joint for a quick hamburger. On Saturday morning attend the restaurant breakfast, again with Cambridge in hand. The attempt will be to make everyone jealous of my great drink!
