Could Mary, the mother of Jesus, possibly have been the wife of our Heavenly Father in the pre-existence?

Gramps,
I am wondering about Mother Mary. She was obviously very worthy to have been chosen to carry and bear the Son of GOD. Do you think that Mother Mary could possibly have been the wife of Our Heavenly Father is the Pre existence? Please let me know what you think.
Taihler, from Elma, Washington

Dear Taihler,
Absolutely not!!! She was a mortal in the same sense that all others are mortal. In the spirit, she was a child of God, as are all other mortals. She is unique in that she is the mortal mother of the Savior, whose father in mortality was the Great God of Heaven, the Father of all spirits, and the Father of His Only Begotten Son in the flesh. She is to be revered and honored for her marvelously unique role as the mortal mother of the Savior of mankind, but she is not be worshiped as some sort of deity or intercessory between God and man.
