Atlantis and other lost cities
Is it possible that Atlantis and other cities that were destroyed could be civiilzations that the Lord destroyed for wickedness?

Dear Wendi,
It is possible, but we really don’t know much about Atlantis to begin with. It is more than possible that Plato was recording folk traditions about the island of Santorini, where a Minoan palace was destroyed by volcanic eruption. Plato was not an historian. The past only interested him if he could use stories from it for philosophical purposes. I encourage you to study all you can about Plato and Atlantis. Learning is one of the funnest journeys we can take, and the more we know, the deeper our appreciation of God’s hand in the world is.
