My son’s race was listed as Black rather then Spanish. Two days later the priesthood was given to all worthy males without regard to race or color. Does this have any significance?

Dear Gramps,
My eldest son was born in June 4, 1978. Well, a hospital clerk wrote in his birth certificate that my race was black but I am fair skin Spanish. Needless to say this information was changed. A couple of days later the priesthood was given to all worthy men. I showed this incident to a friend of mine and he mentioned that maybe my son was Abel’s spiritual descendant because the priesthood supposed to be given to blacks after Abel’s spiritual descendants were born in the earth. I do not remember seeing anything in the scripture about this. Can you help me to understand more this?

Hilda, from Houston, Texas
Dear Hilda,
I’m sorry, but I cannot help you to understand anything that I myself do not understand or that I do not believe to be true. The idea that the priesthood was given to blacks only after Abel’s spiritual descendants were born is pure rubbish, supported nowhere in the scriptures or in the words of the prophets. So that sort of rubbish should be thrown out with all the other trash and given no consideration at all.
It appears that some hospital clerk made a mistake in racial determination and it was later corrected. I think that it would be foolish and beyond support to read anything more than that into the meaning of that mistake.
